Fingerprint tool guards multimedia content

Fingerprint tool guards multimedia content: "
Researchers at the University of Maryland have developed a digital fingerprinting technology that they say can better protect multimedia content from unauthorized copying and distribution. "Sony is very interested in this and has donated over US$120,000" toward equipment for a multimedia lab. Hollywood movie studios are also interested.
"
As I have said in previous posts, fingerprints are known weak mechanism for identity. Again, this is because it can't be changed. If a fingerprint database is comprimised--and this is only of a question of when--then it is permanatly comprimised.
