Are Microsoft Users More Vulnerable to Attacks?
"A longtime user of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (IE), I finally switched over to Mozilla’s Firefox when I realized that my spyware problems were all related to IE. My friend and I carried out an experiment where each of us used a browser other than IE for a week, and compared notes on the spyware that sneaked into our notebooks. So after a week, during which he used Opera and I used Firefox, he was able to say jubilantly that he had found no unwanted spyware or adware in his system.
Unfortunately, I could not celebrate in kind, not through any fault of Firefox though. I was compelled to use IE for a few operations, especially those that involved getting online support from Dell and McAfee. Even my broadband provider insisted on IE if I needed to view my usage details. What’s a girl to do, other than comply, if the situation demands it? As a result, I was left with 23 critical objects to quarantine.
I hardly use IE at all anymore. I want to play with carspace so I will be forced to use it for that. Otherwise, thanks to Onfolio supporting FireFox, I am a convert.
